Nea' Costica's story as we call him is a heartbreaking one, he had a family, a normal life. But as a result of misunderstandings and misfortunes he lost his home, his family and ended up on the streets. For over 10 years he slept under the open sky in cold season temperatures of over -10 degrees.
It is a miracle that he and his brother in the same situation survived in such conditions.
Noi îi cunoaștem de peste 5 ani, iar în sezonul rece îi căutam mereu pentru a le duce ceai, supă caldă, haine, cărți. Însă după ce am reușit să punem bazele Casei Nicolae, el și fratele lui Adrian, au fost printre primii „chiriași” și ne ajută acum la treburile zilnice, la pusul mesei, ajută pe cei care nu se pot deplasa, treburi în gospodărie.
Those two have transformed enormously, and we see gratitude on their faces every time, because we saved them from those conditions. Probably now what medical condition they were in 2 years ago, they were no longer alive. Every day they thank us, and are full of gratitude for all the people who provide them with a warm meal every day. And we thank you for supporting them and helping us to give them everything they need.
