Melinda's story
Melinda - such a beautiful name. A mum-to-be living with us. She's 31 weeks pregnant and we need to get her maternity bag ready already! In mid-August she will deliver a baby girl!
Melinda's story is a sad one, like most of the stories in the Nicholas House. Her parents abandoned her, probably not knowing how to cope with a child with Down's Syndrome. But Melinda has grown up beautifully, she is very gentle, loving, caring but she also cries a lot - she fears she will lose her baby after she gives birth because she has no home of her own and because of the condition she suffers from.
The child's father - we've met him too but he doesn't want to recognise his future daughter! So Melinda will raise her little girl alone
